Today is Adventure Day. Each week as part of William and Sebastian’s schooling we are trying to go somewhere or do something that we can incorporate into their learning. Today we didn’t tell the kids where we were going just they we were going somewhere and they needed their coats, that the drive was about 3 ½ hours each way and that we were taking our passports. So to them we are obviously going to Mexico…

Today’s lesson had taken a sharp turn from Science and Hydro Plants to Geography and proximity to Ohio (which is where we are currently). We were in fact going to Canada to Niagara Falls. They got to go through Border Control that wasn’t at an airport. They saw both the USA side and Canadian side of the falls. We talked about hydroelectricity, Canadian money, and exchange rates.

My hat goes off to anyone who home schools. It most certainly is a job and there is a grace to do it. Honestly it is not my favourite thing to do with my kids but in this season it is necessary… but I do love teaching & learning through experience and exploration.
